MacKenzie Cortez
Marriage and Family Therapist Intern
Mackenzie grew up in Reno and has since lived all over the country as well as abroad. She has worked in human services for over 10 years and also has experience in event planning, small business ownership, and higher education. Throughout all of these different occupations, her favorite part of each has been getting to know people and hear their stories. MacKenzie received her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Fresno Pacific University and completed her master’s degree in business at the University of Nevada in 2018.
MacKenzie believes in creating a safe and trusting atmosphere for her clients, and focuses strongly on the power of attachment and understanding our emotions. Using curiosity, and not judgement, she works with clients to address their concerns and collaboratively move towards developing skills to cope with difficult symptoms and life experiences.
