Julia Riggleman
Social Work Practicum Student
Julia grew up in Northern Virginia and moved to Reno in 2018. She completed her bachelors degrees in psychology and sociology at the University of Nevada, Reno in 2022 and is currently finishing the last year of her Masters in Social Work at UNR. Julia has worked with adolescents, adults, and families with a variety of lived experiences and support needs. She has experience working with individuals with a diverse range of identities including those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She is also skilled at incorporating mindfulness and meditation into her therapeutic support to help people identify and respond to stress in a healthy way.
Julia has been passionate about becoming a therapist since the first day she enrolled in college. She has always been fascinated learning about how humans function and is driven to use that information in a way that helps people become the person that they want to be.
How I stay healthy: I maintain my physical, mental, and social health by watching anime, trying new vegan food with my husband, throwing toys for my two dogs, playing video games, and learning Japanese.
